Lion punch art

I often surf the net looking for ideas and inspirations for my cards and scrapbook pages.
Pinterest and Splitcoast Stampers are great places to find ideas.
But usually what happens is that I start work on a particular design and then I add to it and change it so that my finished project ends up nothing like the original.

However when I saw a card over on Crafty Thinkers blog with a cute lion made from punch art I couldn't change a thing (well my lion faces the other way and I have used More Mustard instead of Peach Parfait but otherwise it's pretty much the same). I hope I have done justice to the original.

Be back tomorrow with some new samples for you.

Christmas in July - Penguin Punch Art

As we all know crafters like to get ahead and start making their Christmas cards early (in theory anyway).  I was looking through some photos on my laptop last night and I realised I had a couple of Christmas cards that I hadn't shared online. These were originally meant to be part of my stamp-a-stack class in November last year, that unfortunately had to be cancelled when my dad was ill.

The first card was cased from Julie Davison's blog here.

Using the owl punch to make the penguin as shown.

The "Let It Snow" sentiment is from the Jolly Jingles Jumbo wheel. Now you could keep the wheel intact and just use your Stampin' Write markers to colour the bit of text that you want or you could do what I did which is to take the rubber off the wheel, mount it on U-Mount cling foam and then cut out each individual sentiment. This way you get at least 17 individual stamps for the bargain price of only £8.50 (plus a wee bit of cling mount).

Check back tomorrow for another punch art Christmas Card - this one features polar bears!

Hello Kitty punch art

This card was made for a friend's birthday recently. Yes you did read the number correctly!

Hello Kitty is made from the following punches:
Large Oval
Five Petal Flower (ears)
Owl punch (teeny circles for eyes and nose)
Small Heart punch (cut in half for bow)

The little happy birthdaystamp is from the Create A Cupcake set that was in our recent Spring mini catalogue and I am hoping that this set is one that carries over into our new main catalogue in October.

I also added some texture to the card by using the heart design from the new embossing set in the Summer Mini catalogue - details belo
