I just realised I hadn't posted pictures of my other convention swaps yet. I made a stepper box which has four origami fold boxes inside, and another for the lid. They're very easy to make but just a wee bit time consuming when you have to make 10 of them - I actually made 12 so I had a couple to spare for gifts. Anyway on the bus on the way to Addigton Palace I realised I hadn't taken any photos of them so here are the photos taken on the bus! LOL

I used papers from the Jolly Holiday set and some Old Olive satin ribbon.

I don't have any pictures of the box opened and it's too dull today to get a decent photo. However you can see what the box looks like when it's opened from this post here from when I made a similar box a couple of years ago.

Will be back later this week with some more photos of some of the 3D swaps I received plus some card candy and other cards.

Product News: Ornament Punch

Have just heard the following:

  • Ornament Punch (item 119847) - not available to order at this time.
Stampin' Up! is currently working with the manufacturer to solve a quality issue that has been experienced with a few of the punches. As the Ornament Punch is part of the Bundle Up for Christmas promotion this option will no longer be available to purchase. Please be assured that Stampin' Up! are doing all they can to solve this problem as soon as possible. I will post another update when this item again becomes available. I'm so sorry to any of my customers who were hoping to purchase this punch before Christmas.

Convention Swaps

Part of the fun of Stampin' Up! Convention is swaps. Basically most of the demonstrators who attend make up lots of swap cards all the same and then swap them with other demonstrators. That way you end up with lots and lots of different cards. I absolutely loved taking part in this as I now have approximately 60 gorgeous cards full of new ideas and that are sparking my own creativity.

Here are the swaps I made:These use the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper. These papers are perfect for this type of card as they are patterned on both sides.

I made up cards using the same design in four different colour ways.

My next design used the Eiffel Tour stamp from the new Artistic Etchings set. I bought these stamps in the clear mount option. These stamps are the same red rubber (NOT clear polymer) as the usual wood mounted stamps but they have a sticker that goes directly onto the back of the grey cushioning foam and then they stick directly onto a clear stamping block. They are fab! I think I now prefer them to the wood mount stamps now.

The sentiments are from the level 3 hostess set Occasional Words - one of the many benefits of being a Stampin' Up! demo is that we have the opportunity to purchase both a Level 2 and a Level 3 hostess set before the launch of the new catalogue.

The brad is from the Hodgepodge Hardware kit and the background stamp is En Francais (mais oui! LOL ). I can't tell you how quick and easy these cards were to make but lets say I started them at 10:40pm the night before I flew down to Convention!

My 3D swaps will follow soon, plus card candy and then some photos of some of the swaps I received in return at Convention. I'll also have them on display if you are coming along to my workshop on Thursday 18 November - my place 10am-12 noon. Please call (07949 101534) or email (thefineartofstampin@gmail.com) as soon as possible if you would like to come along.

Convention highlights

Just wanted to quickly post some highlights from convention.

Firstly thanks to Diane for being my lovely room mate again. Was just like the scrapaganza days.
Thank you for my beautiful room mate gifts - pictures to follow later when I get home. Sorry your gift wad delayed due to circumstances beyond my control! Hopefully will get it posted to you soon.

Also it was great to meet up with all the Tartan Stampers again. We had so many laughs. Thanks for making it so much fun. And it was great to meet the new members of the team as well. I hope you all enjoyed your first convention as much as I did.

Huge congratulations to my second level downing Emma who achieved an outstanding award as the #13 demo in the UK. What a brilliant result. Well done Emma.

Also big congratulations to my SU "sisters" Elaine and Kara who were both in the top 25 demos of the year, and my upline Dawn who was in the top 10.

And thank you so much to Dawn for her very generous gifts that she have to each of us.

I have so many beautiful items from the 3d swap and card candy swap. And lots of stunning cards from the general swaps. They are inspiring and I have so many ideas in my head for new projects.

I learned so much from Julie Kettlewell and Michelle Last's presentations. And we saw some really amazing projects from Shelli and Pam Morgan.

We also got to see the new saleabration sets available to buy from 1 January and they are fantastic. Something for everyone. We even got given one set to take away with us.

And best of all they announced that next years convention will be held at Disneyland Paris so if anyone wants to sign up and come with me next year just let me know. The dates ate 18 and 19 November 2011.

More Vintage style Vintage Vogue and more...

Some more samples made using the Vintage Vogue stamp set.

Remember the Vintage Vogue stamp set (£19.95) is currently only guaranteed to be availabe until 30 September (that's not to say it might not make it in to the new catalogue due out on 1 October 2010, but nothing is certain!)

And finally the last two cards made using the Vintage Vogue set (for a wee while anyway):

The first one uses colours from the Bold Brights range for a much more modern card.

And this last card includes a flower that was included in last month's Stampin' Success (a magazine for US & Canadian demos, but we can sneak a peek online ;)

Some Vintage Vogue cards

These cards were made using the gorgeous Vintage Vogue stamp set that we used at class the other week and some of the ladies who attended (and purchased the stamp set) requested that I put my other samples online. The first five cards were made using the new Cottage Wall designer series paper - not sure how long this will be around, we've just been told "until stocks last" so if you want some it would probably be better to order sooner rather than later.

However if you just want a taster then these are also included in the Stampin' Up! New Colour share.

The first three cards were CASEd (ie shamelessly copied) from Canadian Stampin' Up! demo Deanna Tam. My crafting mojo had got up and left for a seriously long time and I just didn't know where to start. But luckily once I had made the first three cards I was inspired to come up with my own ideas once again...thank goodness!
